Flickr album link: Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge The Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge is located about an hour northwest of Rock Springs, Wyoming, which is a good place to stock up for adventures in this desolate region. Southwest Wyoming is a land of high desert rolling hills and buttes that is best suited for deer and pronghorn antelope. Just by taking a drive on the two lane highways, a visitor will likely see dozens of these wild animals roaming the grassy hills. There are several water resources in this region that attract wildlife too and the Green River is the grandaddy of them all. This lazy river meanders through the valleys and flatlands in. this region and one particular section is preserved as a wildlife sanctuary. The Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge surrounds the Green River along State Road 372 and there are many points of access to choose from. Many people setup powerful telescopes for pronghorn viewing in the surrounding hills, while the birdwatchers tend to flock to spots along the river. Seedskadee definitely is a great place to be during the migration season, because a wide range of song birds, wading birds and water fowl traditionally pass through this area on the way to greener environments up north. The Green River sport fishing is also world class in Seedskadee and anglers will be pleased to know that there are boat ramps onsite. Spring, early summer and fall are the best times for a birding venture, so be sure to keep this unique wildlife preserve in mind when passing through!

New!
Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *The Destination West website upgrading project is well underway. Unique YouTube slideshows are replacing the outdated Flickr photo galleries. The new videos feature modern graphics and alternative music instrumentals that enhance the viewing experience. Some articles are being condensed, while others are getting much needed edits. As everybody knows, the bulk of the original articles and photos were published on the fly during the Covid camping venture and there were limitations. Upgrading is the way to go and more articles will receive a makeover each week until this project is completed. After that, I will be able to gather new material. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
