When driving on the National Forest roads it pays to check out the points of interest along the way, especially when there are no future plans for a return visit. Taking the time to have a look at a unique campground deep in the woods will provide something to dream about, while the lesser known scenic overlooks provide views of panoramic landscapes that relatively few mainstream tourists will ever see. Sometimes the overlooks feature a landscape where a bit of pioneer history occurred or where an extreme wildfire was battled, so something can be learned along the way. Other scenic overlooks live up to their name and they can make a viewer wonder why the dramatic spot is not more famous. The Ripple Creek Overlook is one such place that offers panoramic alpine views of the Rocky Mountains, so this roadside attraction is well worth taking the time to check out. The Ripple Creek Overlook is located along County Road 8 in the White River National Forest, so be sure to keep this majestic spot in mind when passing through!
