Red Rock Canyon is just a few miles uphill from Las Vegas and this is a popular destination for doing a sunset viewing cruise. In fact, a sunset cruise through Red Rock Canyon is kind of a local tradition. When the seasons change and the cloud formations look interesting is the best time to go. During times of wildfire smoke or dust storms, Red Rock Canyon is a prime spot because the color of the blood orange sky will surely be intense. The summer monsoon season is good for catching a dramatic sunset too. For those who think that Las Vegas is only about gambling and nightlife, a cool little sunset cruise through a picturesque canyon awaits just a little ways uphill! For some people, seeing a stunning sunset is far better than hitting a jackpot. Just like the old saying goes, the best entertainment is free of charge and a beautiful sunset certainly fits the bill of fare!

New!
Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *The Destination West website upgrading project is well underway. Unique YouTube slideshows are replacing the outdated Flickr photo galleries. The new videos feature modern graphics and alternative music instrumentals that enhance the viewing experience. Some articles are being condensed, while others are getting much needed edits. As everybody knows, the bulk of the original articles and photos were published on the fly during the Covid camping venture and there were limitations. Upgrading is the way to go and more articles will receive a makeover each week until this project is completed. After that, I will be able to gather new material. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
