The town of Moab, Utah definitely is a basecamp for outdoor adventures like no other. Two of the nations most picturesque National Parks border upon this community, while the Moab BLM offers plenty to do too. As can be imagined, this region is a very busy place to be during the spring and summer seasons and reservations are required for most accommodations, including the developed campgrounds. Even Arches National Park has adopted the reservation system for entrance at the gate, so it goes without saying that any rentals or services planned for a vacation will require booking well ahead of time. This includes ATV rentals, helicopter rides and small aircraft tours of the entire Canyonlands landscape. There is one more tourism service in Moab that the majority of visitors overlook and this adventurous activity happens to be hot air ballooning. There actually are local hot air balloon companies that offer rides all times of day and there absolutely is no better way to soak up the incredible views in this majestic region. A sunset ride in a hot air ballon through Canyonlands and Arches certainly will create fond memories that last a lifetime, which is all the inspiration that is needed to make the venture happen. Just like with everything else in Moab, ballooning reservation must be made way ahead of time. The weather will be a major factor too, so it is best to contact a hot air balloon ride company to confirm the best possible window of opportunity. There simply is no better place than Moab to take a nice easy going hot air ballon ride through the skies, so be sure to keep ballooning in mind when seeking fun things to do!

New!
Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *The Destination West website upgrading project is well underway. Unique YouTube slideshows are replacing the outdated Flickr photo galleries. The new videos feature modern graphics and alternative music instrumentals that enhance the viewing experience. Some articles are being condensed, while others are getting much needed edits. As everybody knows, the bulk of the original articles and photos were published on the fly during the Covid camping venture and there were limitations. Upgrading is the way to go and more articles will receive a makeover each week until this project is completed. After that, I will be able to gather new material. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
