Flickr album link: Bearmouth Fishing Access The Bearmouth Fishing Access is just one example of many Montana Fish & Game destinations that are perfect for a summer season outing. The official F&G fishing accesses are often overlooked by mainstream tourists and these cozy spots tend to be favored more by the locals. The exception to the rule are avid fly fishermen from abroad that are attracted to the world class fishing along the endless miles of rivers that run through the western end of this state. All it takes is using the key words when browsing a map to see dozens upon dozens of fishing access points in this region. Best of all, because the roads and highways traditionally follow the riverbed valleys, these fishing spots are very easy to get to. Some are actually located next to the interstate highway, so even the travel time is greatly reduced. The Bearmouth Fishing Access is located on the Clark Fork River next to the road that goes to Garnet Ghost Town. Interstate Highway 80 parallels this river between Garrison and Missoula, so access is quick and easy. Just like most other Fish & Game destinations, basic sanitation facilities and ample parking are available, while a small craft boat launch and a fish cleaning station are part of the package deal. Many outdoor outfitters and tackle shops can be found in the small towns along the river, so even those who did not plan on going fishing can join in on the fun. Moving from one fishing access to the next to find a honey hole can also be easily done, since there are several F&G facilities along the Clark Fork River. Taking a break to explore the Montana gold rush ghost towns in the surrounding mountains can also be part of the touring plan. The Bearmouth Fishing Access is just an example of what lies in store, so be sure to keep the angling option in mind when planning a trip through the Montana Rocky Mountains!

Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *This website will be going through renovations soon. Separate destination articles will be combined after the videos replace the outdated photo gallery system. As many readers know, most of the writing was done on the fly while camping, so many articles read like a rough draft. The articles will be cleaned up and edited. Many of the old photos were straight out of the camera due camping limitations and the quality will be bumped up. Another goal is to make navigating the index pages easier and combining separate articles will help. This website will continue into the future and your patience is greatly appreciated!
