Everything and anything under the sun that has to do with the traditional western lifestyle is marketed at the Cowboy Christmas event in the Las Vegas Convention Center! This western merchandise shopping event has been going on annually since 1986. Cowboy Christmas takes place during the 10 day Las Vegas National Finals Rodeo and many venders continue selling their wares till close to December 25. The best part is that the price of admission is free! During the month of December, Las Vegas goes back to its old west roots when the National Finals Rodeo comes to town. The casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street roll out the red carpet for the hundreds of thousands of visiting rodeo fans. Country western music plays throughout the gaming areas and lounges. Top country music headliner stars are booked at casino concert halls. Las Vegas literally turns into the western entertainment capitol of the world this time of year! Las Vegas has evolved to become a world class shopping mecca in its own right and attending the Cowboy Christmas event is the best way to fulfill the western style Santa Claus shopping wish list. Cowboy Christmas events takes place at several major casino convention centers on the Las Vegas Strip and the grandaddy of all of the cowboy western shopping extravaganzas can be found at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Paradise Road. The gigantic LV Convention Center covers well over 3 million square feet and the South Hall covers at least half of this space. As can be imagined, the Cowboy Christmas at the LVCC South Hall can equate to several miles of seriously fun cowboy western shopping, some sore feet and a healthy size dent in the old wallet at the end of the day! There is so much top notch western eye candy, that it is difficult to not cut loose and spend, spend, spend. One might say that Cowboy Christmas in good old Sin City truly is the ultimate shopping temptation in the west! Everything from big silver belt buckles to state of the art horse trailers can be found at the LVCC Cowboy Christmas. There are plenty of plush western style leather furnishings, hand woven Native American rugs, paintings and priceless bronze sculptures to fancy up the ole homestead. Tons of stylish cowboy and cowgirl clothing, boots and hats can be seen around every corner. Hand crafted turquoise, silver and gold jewelry tops off the look and there is plenty of flashy rhinestone bling items to choose from too. Every famous western merchandise outfitter sets up shop at Cowboy Christmas and plenty of good bargains can be found. Just like at any old west trading post, some prices can be haggled, while others are set firm. Overall, the prices are lower than average, so bargain hunters will be in hog heaven. There are also plenty of opportunities for Cowboy Christmas shoppers win free merchandise in promotional drawings and raffles. Some of the promotional give aways include high ticket items, like 4-wheelers, cowboy boots and pickup trucks. As an additional convenience, the Official National Finals Rodeo Ticket Exchange can be found in a meeting room at the LVCC Cowboy Christmas. I purchased my NFR ticket at the online website and picked it up at the Ticket Exchange in a matter of minutes. The Ticket Exchange is well organized and secure, so there are no worries involved when buying or swapping tickets. It does not matter if a visitor is only into big city saloon country music line dancing back east or the shopper is a wrangler that does hard work on a big ranch in Texas. As can be seen in the photos, there is something for every western lifestyle at the Cowboy Christmas event!

New!
Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *The Destination West website upgrading project is well underway. Unique YouTube slideshows are replacing the outdated Flickr photo galleries. The new videos feature modern graphics and alternative music instrumentals that enhance the viewing experience. Some articles are being condensed, while others are getting much needed edits. As everybody knows, the bulk of the original articles and photos were published on the fly during the Covid camping venture and there were limitations. Upgrading is the way to go and more articles will receive a makeover each week until this project is completed. After that, I will be able to gather new material. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
