From the Gemini Bridges it is just a short drive to the intersection of the roads that either go to Potash Road down by the Colorado River or to the Island In The Sky Scenic Byway near Dead Horse Point State Park. This is the final leg of a long Gemini Bridges dirt road journey and the previous articles describe the rest of the trip. This Jeep trail is rated as easy, so just about any high ground clearance vehicle can handle these roads with ease. The photo album features the option for going to the Island In The Sky. All along this trail there are panoramic mesa top landscapes that stretch out to the horizon and the strange looking eroded red rock formations are the star of the show. The grassy mesa top areas are good spots for wildlife viewing and sometimes Bighorn Sheep can be seen. There are also several famous mountain bike trails to be found, so a world of adventure awaits those who travel on two wheels. Either way, arriving at the Island In The Sky in a 4x4 vehicle covered with red desert dirt is considered to be stylish in Moab, so be sure to not head directly to the car wash after doing this long dusty trip!

New!
Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *The Destination West website upgrading project is well underway. Unique YouTube slideshows are replacing the outdated Flickr photo galleries. The new videos feature modern graphics and alternative music instrumentals that enhance the viewing experience. Some articles are being condensed, while others are getting much needed edits. As everybody knows, the bulk of the original articles and photos were published on the fly during the Covid camping venture and there were limitations. Upgrading is the way to go and more articles will receive a makeover each week until this project is completed. After that, I will be able to gather new material. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
