Bellagio Fountains ~ Las Vegas

The Bellagio Fountains are a prime Las Vegas tourist attraction and the best part is this show is free of charge! When considering the thousands of spectators that line up around Lake Bellagio to watch the water show each hour, the Bellagio Fountains is by far one of the most successful entertainment venues in the history of the Las Vegas Strip. The Bellagio Fountains engineering involves a complex system of high pressure water jet nozzles that are positioned just below the surface of Bellagio Lake. The powerful water fountain jets are operated with pressurized steam, which can produce a tremendous amount of vertical thrust. Some of the high pressure fountains launch vertical bursts of water that exceed 450 feet in height!

Every Bellagio Fountain Show is coordinated with a unique musical. The selection of tunes range from Elvis and Frank Sinatra classics to Michael Jackson. Parade marches are incorporated in the music venue for special events and recently a Lady Gaga song was also added to the lineup.

Restaurants and resort guest rooms in the Bellagio and the nearby casino resorts all offer good views of the Bellagio Fountain Show. I once dined with a guest at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant across the street at the Paris Hotel Casino and the fountain show definitely enhanced the experience. The best place to get a restaurant table or a room with a view of the fountains is at Bellagio itself. Many restaurants and clubs offer lakeside veranda seating with an unobstructed view of the water show and tower rooms overlooking Lake Bellagio can also be booked upon request. There are even romantic wedding gazebos on site near the Bellagio Fountains for those who wish for a romantic setting when tying the knot!

The Bellagio Fountain Show certainly is a spectacular event to see in person. Relaxing in the sunshine by the lake and chilling out with a little bit of overspray from the powerful fountain blasts is a good way to stay cool during the summer months. Listening to classic hits of the past with a water fountain show coordinated with the musical score does have a way of putting a smile on  the face. The Bellagio Fountain Show is a free show that simply must be experienced when touring the Las Vegas Strip!
