These BLM recreation sites usually feature a river rafting beach landing, dispersed camping on the river banks, fire pits and basic facilities, which are a nice convenience for both anglers and aquatic sports participants. The roads tend to follow the rivers in this mountainous region and Highway 95 actually parallels the Salmon River, which is perfect for boat trailer haulers and rafting excursion companies. The reason why it is good to feature western river access spots has nothing to do with the high end fly fishing tourism trade that Idaho is famous for. These cozy riverside recreation areas are favorite weekend fishing spots of the locals and they are good picnic sites for family fun in the sun. The riverside access areas are also a top choice for those who are doing a camping tour on a tight budget and catching some trout is a good way to alleviate dining expenses. Many of the riverside BLM sites allow dispersed camping, but there are rules to follow. Overnighters are required to have a sanitation device (camping toilet). The pack it in-pack it out rules also apply. When traveling on Highway 95 between Riggins and Grangerville, Idaho, be sure to keep the Twin Bridges Access in mind. Pleasant spots like this are where traditional weekend activities abound on the mighty Salmon River!

New!
Destination West YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@DestinationWestOrg *The Destination West website upgrading project is well underway. Unique YouTube slideshows are replacing the outdated Flickr photo galleries. The new videos feature modern graphics and alternative music instrumentals that enhance the viewing experience. Some articles are being condensed, while others are getting much needed edits. As everybody knows, the bulk of the original articles and photos were published on the fly during the Covid camping venture and there were limitations. Upgrading is the way to go and more articles will receive a makeover each week until this project is completed. After that, I will be able to gather new material. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
