Flickr album link: Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway The Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway is a great road to tour during the autumn season. The summer season tourists have all gone home and plenty elbow room can be found this time of year, which is all the inspiration needed. Fall is also when the rutting season begins and spotting large herd animals in this part of the Boise National Forest certainly is a pastime. Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway is located a short drive north of Boise. This touring route parallels the Lower Payette River between Banks and Lowman. This stretch of river is also called Idaho Canyon Country and it is famous for summer season whitewater rafting adventures. There are plenty of good fishing holes along the way, so be sure to pack some fly fishing gear. Packing a powerful lens for spotting deer, bighorn and elk will also be necessary for this trip. One look at the photos is all it takes to inspire landscape artists, so it goes without saying that the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway truly is a feast for the eyes!
